First I want to welcome all my new followers! It is so nice to see new faces on my blog. (Well, at least I see many new names!). I apologize to my regular followers for the long period of silence through the holidays. I think this strange new world is getting to everyone. I hope you and yours are well and that you’ve found ways to deal with the changes in our day-to-day life.
As I’ve mentioned before, I fill my days making baby quilts with no specific goal other than the fact that small quilts made with joyful fabrics make me smile. I had originally thought I would open a shop on Etsy but am thinking I might just save the quilts until the world reopens and get a table at a few craft shows. It will be nice to ‘mingle’ again!! Or they may all become donation quilts. They at least served their original purpose of keeping me entertained for the past year.
So, I’ll bet you are waiting to hear about the free books and here I am rambling on about baby quilts. (Maybe I’ll attach a few pictures of the quilts at the end).
One lucky follower will be receiving the complete 11-book Quilting Cozy series. If you are not a follower, please go to the FOLLOW link on the side or the bottom depending upon your device. Just enter your email address to sign up. You’ll receive an email whenever I write a blog which is generally once a month. Also, you will be signed up instantly and eligible for this drawing.
As a follower, all you need to do is go to the bottom of this blog and leave a COMMENT telling me that you would like to enter the drawing. If you would like to say more, I’d love to read it. I enjoy getting to know my followers. Some of you have been with me from the very beginning….some have read all my books and some have not. For those of you who have read them all, you might like to own this complete set (signed by the author, of course) or give it as a gift.
On February 13th (2021), just two weeks from today, a winner will be chosen using Random.org’s computer-generated randomness. The winner will be notified by email and I will sign all eleven books in the current series and get them in the mail to you right away.

And as an added bonus, I will send the winner Book #12, Frayed Edges: a quilting cozy when it comes out on June 26, 2021, and you will have the entire set!
And for those of you who are waiting for #12, we’ll do a free drawing for the new book in May and have five winners! (If you’ve pre-ordered Frayed Edges from Amazon or the publisher, you will have time to cancel the order if you win the book).
I know I mentioned including some baby quilt pictures, but I think I’ll do that in a few days. Let’s just take care of getting signed up for the drawing today.
Take good care of yourselves and stay safe. My very best wishes to you and your families.
Blessings, Carol
p.s. don’t forget you can write to me anytime at QuiltingCozy@gmail.com or use the Contact Me page on the blog. I love hearing from my blogging friends.
I have never been on a blogging account before. I just sent an email to you, Carol, and I was asked to follow here. I have no idea what to do next. I just wanted to tell you a little about my quilt adventures and tell you I pray you would write #12 and more…well I found out you are, so I’m a happy quilter, mystery reader! Thanks.
Love your books . I can hardly wait for the new book .
Please enter me in the drawing for the autographed set of your books. I have read the first ten on Kindle but much prefer an actual book and turning pages. Reading your books satisfies both my favorite things….reading and quilts.
You’re in the drawing, Donna. so glad you enjoy the books.
Carol
Hi, carol. Please enter me in your drawing. I made my first quilt at 8 years old for my turtle and have loved quilts ever since. I still have it displayed in my sewing room. Thank you for your Quilting Cozy series. Gloria
I burst out laughing when I got to the word ‘turtle.’ That’s adorable. I was about 50 years older than that when I started quilting but I think I’m catching up. I love quilting and it’s sure pulled me through these rough days at home full time. Thank you for letting me know about your turtle quilt. Such a sweet story.
Stay safe,
Carol
Carol you have been fortunate! What a lovely way to pass your time making baby quilts! It will be interesting to see what you do with them. I try to always have a couple of boy and girl baby quilts on hand because someone always needs a quilt in a hurry in my circle of friends or family. I’ve spent this past year making masks, doing some lovely pattern tests for wonderful designers, reading, taking care of my DH who has MS, recuperating from having contracted Covid-19, and trying to keep active with my Guild. We can not have in person meetings and classes so my quilting students get on line tutoring, one on one via FaceTime. Winning your wonderful books (and being able to enjoy them over and over) would be the perfect pick me up with all that has gone on this year. I’m looking forward to seeing your photos of your quilts and agree that machine binding is not my forte either.
Thank you so much for your interesting comments. I’ve loved making these baby quilts and I think I will be trying out a couple of craft shows once it is safe. I’ve already given away some and I’m sure I’ll be donating some. I got them all photographed today so will do the baby quilt blog within the next few days.
My very best wishes.
Carol
I’m so looking forward to seeing more photos of your baby quilts Carol. I have a new great granddaughter to make a quilt for so am looking for some ideas/information.
I’d love to win your quilting book set! As a new quilter, I can use all the inspiration I can get!!
Thank you for entering, Patricia. You’ll definitely be inspired!
Good Morning Carol! Please put me in the hat… well, not me but my name 🙂 for your complete autographed collection. My collection is getting worn out as I keep giving them to my quilty friends to read. Although there is something to be said for well worn books, I’d love to have a pristine set on my bookshelf, especially an autographed set. Looking forward to your baby quilt post. I’m attempting mini quilts this week. Finished measurements are in the 12×18 range. Wish me luck!
Wow! Those are little! And what fun it is to work on the smaller canvas. Enjoy!
Carol
I’m curious about the baby quilts you are making, are those crib size or larger? Several years ago one of my quilt guilds decided the charity quilts we make for children should be closer to 70 inches long. That way a child can wrap themselves in the quilt. I was just curious as to how other guilds handle it. Obviously we could make more if they are crib size. Just would like another opinion from someone in the quilting world. Thanks.
I make mine approximately 36″ x 46″. It fits a crib but is small enough for the toddler to drag around for years to come…as we know they do. My son ended up with only a small piece of binding left from his first quilt and he would not accept a replacement.
Re size, I stay within 40″ for the width so I don’t need to piece the back.
I would love to be in the drawing! I’ve read about half of the series and love the stories!
Thank you Janice for letting me know you are enjoying the series. I’m so glad. I had a great time writing it!
Carol
I’m in, Carol! What fun it would be to win your books!!
Looking forward to reading more great stories,
Wanda
Hi Wanda,
So glad you hear from you. I hope all is well with you and yours during these incredibly strange times. Thank goodness for quilting and reading!
Best wishes,
Carol
Please put my name in the hat! What a fun giveaway.
You’re in!! Thanks for responding.
I love these books. Character development is great and they are always true to their character throughout the books. Funny, informative story lines. Keep them coming.
I really appreciate your comments, Karen. I am not a writer and didn’t write these until I was in my seventies so knew nothing about character development but these characters grew on their own as I wrote about them…just a natural progression I guess. As for ‘informative’, I will admit I tried to present one aging issue that Sarah and Sophie grappled with in each book just to be able to talk about alternative solutions. Thanks for noticing!!
Best wishes,
Carol
Would be happy to win the books. Looking forward to seeing the baby quilts.
I’m really enjoying making these quilts. I tried to machine hem one today and made a terrible mess. Had to cut 1/2″ off the quilt all the way around. Back to needle and thread. Hemming is not my favorite part!
Best wishes,
Carol
I would love to win this series. My mom was a quilter and I remember watching her quilt. She died on my birthday in 2015. I have a couple of her quilts. I love reading about quilting and enjoy reading about the Amish.
You just might to give quilting a try one day. Quilt shops usually have classes and I’ve learned so much on YouTube, particularly Missouri Star videos.
We just moved into a “lively” senior community this month and I’m a quilter who loves cozy mysteries so thus series is right up my alley! I look forward to seeing your baby quilts.
Congratulations on the move! And thank you for telling me. I know you’ll enjoy it. Best wishes,
Carol
I would love to be entered into the drawing for the series signed by the author❣️ I also would love to see pictures of the quilts you’re making and have made! Always love to others gorgeous creations ❣️❣️
You’re entered, Kelley, and the quilts will be in the very next post.
Best wishes, Carol
I love reading books with the theme of quilts in the book. Please enter me in the drawing. I, too, have been making lots of baby/children quilts. I am trying to use up my childrens fabric and then if I need a baby quilt for a gift I will have it ready to give in a moments notice. Thanks for the generous giveaway.
Now there’s an idea for some of my quilts…put them aside for future gives or even for donation drives! I’ll even send pictures to my adult children for when they need baby gifts! Thanks, Renea. Great idea.
Hi Carol please enter me in the drawing. I have read a few of your books and would like more. On the baby quilt scene I totally understand. I have been making small quilts for Teen Parent connection. Our guild started this and it is a great way to make small quilts and use up some fabric.
We quilts have a fantastic way to keep ourselves occupied during these unusual times. And we all have plenty of fabric tucked away in every corner of the sewing room so we don’t even have to go shopping. It’s a perfect time for making scrap quilts…we can get way ahead on our gift-giving too!
I would love to have a set of this series. Thank you for the opportunity!
It is my pleasure. Take care.
Thank you for doing thus give away, it is very kind and generous of you. I throughly enjoy your books and am looking forward to new ones. Tell me more about your baby quilts I never mind talking quilting. Take care and thanks again.
Stay tuned…the baby quilts are coming. I’m hemming two I Spy quilts right now and watching the snow come down.
Carol
Hi Carol: Please enter me for the complete set of books. I would love to see some of the baby quilts you have made for ideas.
You’re in, June. Thank you for entering.
Carol
Hi Carol, please enter me in the drawing to win all your books. I am currently reading “Missing Memories” and thoroughly enjoying it. The quilt featured on the cover of your new book “Frayed Edges” is beautiful. I can hardly wait to follow Sarah, Charles and good ol Sophie and the rest of the lively group on their new adventures. Sending you hugs.
Hi Kathleen, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the books so much. They were great fun to write…my characters seemed to be inspiring me. I haven’t been writing this year and I’m missing Sarah and Sophie! Thanks so much for your kind words. My very best, Carol
I would like to enter please. I have read a few crafty cozies, but not quilts. Would love to read your books. I know what you mean about making baby quilts. This year there are no new to be born babies in the family so I will be concentrating on things for our house. Way past time. And I joined my first BOM. I am so excited. Each block is a different star and I will be using them to make something for around our house.

I love BOMs. It keeps you going and you always learn so much! Enjoy and good luck with the drawing.
Carol
Hi Carol, I’ve not read your books yet, but I would love too! I enjoy quilting as well and baby quilts are so fun to make. Thank you for the chance to win your books.
You are very welcome. Carol
Hi Carol!
I just want to let you know that I really enjoy your books and look forward to Frayed Edges. I would like to be entered into the drawing, please.
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the books and thank you for letting me know. You’re name is in ‘the hat.’
Carol
Hi Carol, I would like to be entered into the drawing for a set of you books. I am not much of a reader, but I read you 1st book and I am actually wanting to read more of you writing. Thank you for doing this.
Linda
I hope you will read a couple more. That was the first book I ever wrote and I really think they get better as they go along. I haven’t written for the past year and I miss my characters. They became friends over the years. I’m thinking about reading all of my books over just to spend time with them.
Carol.
Love a good quilting story, have enjoyed several of your books. I made tons of masks this year, kept me busy and feeling like I was helping. I’ve gone back to quilts and loving every minute. Thanks.
Thank you for helping out by making masks. It means so much to people who don’t sew and we quilters can make some really beautiful ones, can’t we! Best wishes, Carol
I love your books. I only have digital copies. Only the eleventh one has a quilt pattern. I am a quilter. I would love the books.
You have my original self-published books from Amazon. C&T publishing took them over, proofed them (sorry about the typos), and added the patterns and new covers. The new ones are much improved! But the stories are the same. They didn’t ask me to make any changes.
I’ve read most of your wonderful books already, but would love a complete autographed set. Keep ’em coming!
Hi Paula, nice to ‘see’ you! Hope to see you in person one of these months.
Luv
I would like to be entered into your drawing for books. I love cozy mysteries.
Cozies are my favorite! I love the relationships that develop and the light mysteries. I can read them for pure enjoyment.
I would love to add these to my quilt book collection! It’s always fun to “meet” new quilting friends in print. ☺️
And I would love being a part of that collection!!! Good luck.
Carol
I would like to enter the contest. I’m looking forward to the new book in June!
Thank you, Deborah,
Carol
I love your books and quilting! Like your name too!! Baby quilts are so satisfying because you can finish them quickly. I do slot of chemo quilts that are throw size. Small enough to quilt on my home machine. Thanks for having a fun drawing. I would love to win a complete set of your books.
It’s a good name, isn’t it? It’s worked for me for 82 years!!
Thanks for the opportunity to win your books.
You are extremely welcome! Good luck.
Carol
I have read and enjoyed the first of your books. I would love to be entered into the drawing for the complete set.
You’re in Cheryl. Thank you for responding. Carol
I’d like to enter the drawing.
Just finished Tie Died. I relate so perfectly to Sarah.
So glad you are connecting with the characters. I think you will enjoy their many adventures.
Carol
Have all the books on my kindle, but would love the books. Prefer to read a book I can feel and touch but finally did get a kindle.
I understand about the Kindle, but at my age I’m having trouble remembering who’s who and I love being able to click on the name I don’t recognize and go back to when he/she was introduced.
Would love the set of your books! They are wonderful reads.
Thank you, Sue.
Can’t wait to see photos of your baby quilts. I’m always looking for quilt inspiration. Please enter me in the book giveaway. I’ve only read book 1 but would like to catch up on the rest of them.
I will definitely post those right after the drawing, and maybe sooner!
Carol
What a wonderful give away! Love your books. I don’t quilt, but I do other crafts, and of course, I read! I do share these with my quilting sister in law!
Hi Erin, Cozies are always written around a hobby, and usually it’s some sort of craft or cooking. I read all the topics and especially like the cooking ones with recipes inserted. I was glad when my publisher suggested adding the patterns to the new books.
Carol
Hi. I love you books and would like to enter the contest.
So glad you enjoy the books, Carol. Thanks for letting me know.
Best,
Carol
Hello Carol, How is my role-model doing? Please enter me in the drawing for the complete set. Thanks, Jean
You’re in and thank you for the kind words! Not sure which one of us is doing the role-modeling though. I’ve learned lots from you over our 50-some year friendship!
Carol
Would love these books. Quilting and reading are what I love to do.
Quilting and reading sound like the perfect life! It’s exactly how I spend my time.
Carol
Hi Carol!
I would love to be in the drawing! I have read book one, as I got it at a retreat last weekend. You joined our retreat and it was inspiring to meet you! I am in my 50’s and just put my dad in assisted living, so it is relatable. I hope I can stay in a place like Sarah is in! Thank you!
Hi Sheryl, You’d be surprised at how many readers have written to me asking where Cunningham Village is located. I hate to have to tell them it’s all in my mind! But wouldn’t that be a perfect place to live? Thanks for replying and good luck with the drawing. Carol
