Cozy up with Sarah and her friends for more murder, quilting, and community

When sixty-eight-year-old Sarah Miller moves into the Cunningham Village retirement community, she is mourning the loss of her husband and the place that has been home for forty-two years. But Sarah is a survivor. As she reaches out into the retirement community that is to become home, she finds friends, activities, new hobbies, and a love interest.

The highly anticipated eleventh installment of this series of cozy mysteries begins with an appearance from Austin Bailey, renowned country singer—but before his concert can get off the ground, a young girl is murdered, and Sarah and her feisty cohort are hot on the case!

Beneath Missouri Stars is being released this month, May 25, 2020, and is available on Amazon for pre-order.

I know this has been a rough period for all of us. You haven’t heard much from me because I just haven’t felt like writing, but I’ve been thinking about my readers and my blogging friends and hope you are all doing well.

I’ve been spending my time making baby quilts. I wanted to sew but didn’t feel ambitious enough to take on a large quilt. Baby quilts are such fun to plan and make. I currently have ten completed and am wondering what to do with them. I may create an shop. I’ll do a separate blog about this and include pictures. It’s been a good way to keep my mind active because it included not just the planning and the piecing, but also learning how to do my own quilting, thanks to YouTube!

My very best wishes to everyone. Don’t forget I’m here if you want to share what’s been going on in your life, ask questions about me or my books, or just ventilate. comes directly to my personal computer at home. I look forward to hearing from you.

Now, don’t forget to scroll down to the COMMENTS section and leave a few words so you’ll have a chance to win the signed books. I’ll email you if you are one of the winners. (If you already have these books, they will make a great gift.)

and I sure would love this set of autographed books, even though you have already read them all.

  3. Enjoy your books so much. They provide coziness and a fun story about two great gals. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I do lots of history and Biblical research and reading, along with a bit more cooking. We see family when possible.

  4. Thank you for the opportunity. I’m spending time with family and reading a lot. Also researching our family’s genealogy.

  6. You continue to amaze me with your wonderful books. I enjoy reading about Sarah & Sophie’s exploits. And of course, the quilt patterns are a plus. Please continue the series!

  7. I’d love to enter, but seeing that I already have all of them, 😍and am waiting for your new book, I’ll step back and let someone else be the lucky one to discover this delightful series.
I’ve been sewing up a storm: one quilted, six tops, Christmas table topper, 5 quilted pillows (first time using zippered back, not so scary after all), seven tops in progress and one quilted frog (My sister and me pattern).
I’ll have you and the boys over for coffee and a “show and tell” when the all clear is given. And, congratulations on the new book release.

  8. I would love to win the series to give to my 87 year old aunt to read. She will love them and she is an avid reader. I think you writing really flows and is fun to read!

  10. Carol,
Fabulous to hear a new read is available soon. I ordered my copy last night when I saw the advertisement on CT Publishing’s email….so exciting to follow the adventures of Sarah and Sophie….I’ve been missing my friends during this pandemic….perfect timing for friendship renewal with those two adventuresome gals! Thank you so very much for your writing efforts. We all understand motivation is not easy during these most depressing times. Please take care and keep making those baby quilts….lots of new life starting out in the world and what better way to welcome them.

  11. I’d love to win these books, have so enjoyed the ones I have read
Most of my ” free” money has gone to making masks and I’m still trying to make charity quilts for veterans.
I have been doing more cooking and also playing video games online with my grandchildren and children, whom I miss very much

  12. I pre-ordered the first day pre-ordering was possible. Love Carol’s quilting Mysteries and Sarah and Sophie but also the other characters she creates. I’ve read all the previous books on my Kindle but I need to win the hardcopies so that I can share them…..and get some other folks hooked on them!

  14. I’m reading a lot and doing some quilting. Right now I’m putting the binding on a quilt that I tried ruler work on. Don’t think that is for me,so finished the last 3rd with 2 different pantograph. It goes without saying that I would love to have the books.

  15. Hi Carol! I am so thrilled the hear that a new book in the series in coming out THIS month. What a spot of good news. I have been reading these along with my sister – we both love to quilt. Since they are in the cozy mystery genre, our mother has been enjoying them as well. The set would look mighty fine in my library/office. Either way, you are loved and enjoyed as a writer. ~smile~ Roseanne

  16. Can’t wait for a new book to read. To me, there’s nothing like the feel of a real book when I curl up in bed at night. Digital books don’t do it for me and with the public library closed, I’ve had to reread all my old cookbooks! lol

  17. Love your books & it would be so much fun to win this set. I would read them & then share them with other quilters.

  18. I’ve loved every one of your books and am so excited you have a new one coming out this month!

  23. My cousin was a geriatric social worker as well. Thank you for helping seniors and their families. I have read on of your books and loved it, would love to win the others so I can get caught up before the new one comes out. Thank you for these most enjoyable stories.

  25. I love your books Carol. I am anxious to get number 11. Please stay safe and continue to write these interesting quilting stories

  26. What a wonderful gift to win during this time . Thanks for the opportunity to try.. I never win but maybe my luck will change . Have not been quilting long but enjoying everything I have learned so far..

  27. I’ve been sewing up a storm. Masks, quilts and pet beds are a staple in my house. We’ve also lost a family member. Quilting has kept me same during his terminal illness. The family loved watching projects grown and finish. They have given me orders for more lol. I think a great bunch of books would break up the craziness! Lol thanks for the opportunity! Please keep writing.

  28. Congrats on your new book! During this pandemic, I washed, cut and ironed material which I donated to various groups who are sewing masks for our health care workers as well as our Quilt Group. I did online search’s and purchased items which are difficult to come by and donated them to those in need. It brings me happiness to be able to help in some way. As I am new to the group, I am beginning to learn how to use a sewing machine and look forward to the day I can make a quilt. It would be an honor to receive signed copies of your books as I have not had an opportunity to read any of your mysteries and it would be a wonderful treat to look forward to. Blessings, Peg Jones
